Hello! We are Denise Johnston and Dr. Ashley Thompson, an enthusiastic mother-daughter team
(both living in the Ottawa Region), with 30+ years of combined experience in the post-secondary world!
We are excited to share our in-depth knowledge
to save you time and money!
Denise has 16 years of recent experience working at both a college and university in Ontario (mostly as a Financial Aid Officer), and as a part-time instructor for Durham College.
She has been involved in the selection process for various awards and has extensive knowledge in many areas of post-secondary, including: demystifying and understand the OSAP process, paying for school (with or without OSAP), available services on campus, etc. She has a wealth of information and can answer just about any question you throw at her - if she doesn’t know, she will tell you where to find the right answer!
Ashley has 15+ years of recent experience as both a post-secondary student (undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees) and an instructor.
She has been a student, a teaching assistant, a research assistant, and is currently a part-time professor at Carleton University for 1st and 4th year neuroscience students. Her extensive knowledge of university life can help your transition to post-secondary be a positive one, including: choosing an area of study, picking a program, choosing courses and/or schools, applying for awards, scholarships, obtaining reference letters, graduate school help, and more!
